About Featherstone

Featherstone is a registered Angus Stud based in Crossover, Gippsland, Victoria. Our journey began with the purchase of 30 registered cow-and-calf units from Narranmore Stud, followed by the addition of leading genetics from Millah Murrah, Prime, Dulverton, Tattykeel, Riddlevue, Eaglehawk, and Clunie Range.

Today, our herd includes over 200 breeding females supported by a robust embryo transfer and AI program using sires from both Australia and overseas.

We manage our cattle under commercial conditions, with annual full herd assessments conducted by Dick Whale. Our focus is on breeding high-quality carcase animals with structural soundness, strong fertility, and quiet temperaments.

Given Gippsland’s high rainfall, foot quality is non-negotiable – sires are selected with EBVs and claw scores top of mind. Every calf is genomically tested, and bulls are scanned annually to help clients make confident, data-backed breeding decisions.
